Hail Mary full of Grace….Happy 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time.  As we begin the month of October, we are called to celebrate the blessing of Our Lady of the Rosary (October 7) and gather our hope around the mysteries of God’s love presented in the praying of the Rosary.

This weekend we will hear about our call to stewardship and sacrificial giving.  In the past few weeks, many of you have received a mailing from the parish in which we hear about our call to sacrificial giving and some suggestions about what it means to prayerfully understand our financial support of the Church and St. Lawrence the Martyr.

While the brochures give us suggestions about the level of our sacrificial offerings to the church, each family is in their own unique situation.  This is where the importance of prayerful discussions and discernment between family and God are so very important.  It is discovering the hopefulness of life where we look outward and know the blessings of God do not cease and the wonders of love brings us closer together.

Becoming Eucharistic People, as we are discovering again and again in gathering as family and sharing the greatest gifts we have with one another, as God has shared his greatest gift, his son Jesus Christ, with us to bring us true life.  It is my firm belief and hope that each family and household will prayerfully consider how best they can support our parish of St. Lawrence the Martyr in their sacrificial giving.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact me or the office staff.

October is the month of the Rosary and I would invite you to take time to learn more about the Rosary as the gift it is, in our Catholic faith.  Formed.org, which is free to all St.Lawrence families has a plethora of different videos and talks delving deeply into the different mysteries and history of the Rosary.  Formed.org also has many other videos, studies, movies and talks for adults, children and the whole family.  Please take advantage of this tool for growing deeper in the knowledge and joy of our faith.

Dios te salve María llena eres de Gracia…Feliz Domingo XXVI del Tiempo Ordinario. Al comenzar el mes de octubre, estamos llamados a celebrar la bendición de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (7 de octubre) y aumentar nuestra esperanza en torno a los misterios del amor de Dios presentados en el rezo del Rosario.

Este fin de semana escucharemos sobre nuestro llamado a la solidaridad cristiana, a dar y compartir nuestra ofrenda.  Muchos de ustedes han recibido en las últimas semanas un correo de la parroquia en el que escuchamos sobre nuestro llamado a dar nuestra ofrenda y algunas sugerencias sobre lo que significa comprender en oración, cuál es la mejor manera de apoyar financieramente a la Iglesia y a San Lorenzo Mártir.

Si bien los folletos nos dan sugerencias de cómo podemos dar y compartir nuestra ofrenda a la iglesia, también sabemos que cada familia tiene una situación única y diferente.  Es de aquí que se desprende, la gran importancia de ponerlo en oración, para poder discernir entre la familia y Dios que es lo que se debe dar.  Es descubrir la esperanza de la vida donde miramos hacia afuera y sabemos que las bendiciones de Dios no cesan y las maravillas del amor nos acercan más.

Convertirnos en Personas Eucarísticas, como lo estamos descubriendo una y otra vez al reunirnos como familia y compartir los mayores dones que tenemos unos con otros, así como Dios ha compartido su mayor don, su hijo Jesucristo, con nosotros para traernos vida verdadera.  Es mi firme creencia y esperanza que cada familia y hogar considere en oración cuál es la mejor manera de apoyar a nuestra parroquia de San Lorenzo Mártir al dar su ofrenda. Octubre es el mes del Rosario y los invito a que se tomen el tiempo para aprender más sobre el Rosario como el regalo que es, en nuestra fe católica. La página web de Formed.org que es gratuita para toda la Familia de San Lorenzo, tiene una gran cantidad de videos y charlas diferentes que profundizan en los diferentes misterios y la historia del Rosario.  Formed.org también tiene muchos otros videos, estudios, películas y charlas para adultos, niños y toda la familia. Aproveche esta herramienta para profundizar en el conocimiento y el gozo de nuestra fe.
