Sharing the hope and thanksgiving of God’s love for each and every member in our community on this 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time!

This week can be very busy for many families as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day.  There can be travel, visitors and yes, the beginning of the Christmas shopping season that will disrupt the normal routines of how we live our lives. This will also mark the last week where we finish our “3 Minute Catechesis” on Becoming a Eucharistic People.  I pray this has been a great journey in learning and discovering the deepness of our Eucharistic faith and how we fit into the greater plan God has for each of us.  One of the most important things I have gained through this process is seeing a deeper beauty in our communal celebrations.  Even as a priest, I can sometimes find myself taking for granted the gift of God shares with us on the Eucharistic altar.  In the New Year we will continue our time of faith, hope and growth by offering short catechesis on prayer and family life. It is a continued opportunity of grow our faith and inviting others to share this same faith.

Sharing our faith is very important and especially in sharing our story in knowing Jesus deeply in life and faith.  Telling our Eucharistic story is a way of sharing our belief that Jesus is present totally and completely: Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity in the Eucharistic Species.  The more we are able to tell these stories of our encounter with Jesus and our continued growth in a relationship of love with the Living God, the better we are able to share our faith with family and friends.

Two last things: last week we talked about our sacrificial giving campaign and the need for all families to return the envelope with their pledge.  Once more, this is not a one time gift, rather it is looking at your families’ sacrificial giving/stewardship and how you, as a family, will offer your treasure to God in the future. Thank you.

And finally, you will notice that I am not in the parish this weekend. I am presenting a Worldwide Marriage Encounter Experience. Please take time to pray for me, the presenting team and all the couples attending.

¡Compartiendo la esperanza y la acción de gracias por el amor de Dios por todos y cada uno de los miembros de nuestra comunidad en este domingo XXXIII del Tiempo Ordinario!

Posiblemente esta semana este llena de ocupaciones para muchas familias, toda vez que celebraremos el día de Acción de Gracias. Puede haber viajes, visitas y, ¡sí! el comienzo de la temporada de compras navideñas que alterará las rutinas normales de cómo vivimos nuestras vidas. Esto también marcará la última semana en la que terminaremos nuestra “Catequesis de 3 minutos” sobre el libro: “Cómo convertirse en personas eucarísticas”. Espero que este haya sido un gran viaje para aprender y descubrir la profundidad de nuestra fe eucarística y cómo encajamos en el plan mayor que Dios tiene para cada uno de nosotros. Una de las cosas más importantes que he obtenido a través de este proceso, es ver una belleza más profunda en nuestras celebraciones comunitarias. Incluso como sacerdote, a veces me encuentro dando por sentado el don que Dios comparte con nosotros en el altar eucarístico. En el Año Nuevo continuaremos nuestro tiempo de fe, esperanza y crecimiento ofreciendo breves catequesis sobre la oración y la vida familiar. Es una oportunidad continua para hacer crecer nuestra fe e invitar a otros a compartir esta misma fe.

Compartir nuestra fe es muy importante y especialmente compartir nuestra historia en la profundización del conocimiento de Cristo en la vida y en la fe. Contar nuestra historia eucarística es una manera de compartir lo que creemos.  Que Jesús está presente total y completamente: Cuerpo, Sangre, Alma y Divinidad en las Especies Eucarísticas. Cuanto más podamos contar estas historias de nuestro encuentro con Jesús y nuestro crecimiento continuo en una relación de amor con el Dios vivo, mejor podremos compartir nuestra fe con familiares y amigos.

Dos últimas cosas: la semana pasada hablamos sobre nuestra campaña de del sacrificio de nuestra ofrenda, y la necesidad de que todas las familias devuelvan el sobre con su promesa. Una vez más, este no es un regalo de una sola vez, sino que se trata de observar el sacrificio/administración de sus familias y cómo ustedes, como familia, ofrecerán su tesoro a Dios en el futuro. ¡Gracias!

Y, por último, notarán que no estoy en la parroquia este fin de semana. Estoy presentando una Experiencia de Encuentro Matrimonial Mundial. Tómese el tiempo para orar por mí, el equipo presentador y todas las parejas asistentes.
