     Happy and Holy Fourth Sunday of Lent!  If you are counting we are moving past the midway point of our Lenten season as  we move closer to the great and holy feast of Easter.

     Thank you for your support of our parish during this time.  We have exceeded the Annual Diocesan Appeal (ADA) goal established by the Diocese and are now in the phase where we seek to meet our “stretch goal” of $165,000.  The added goal helps us to do the work in our church that repairs and renews our physical plant.  This is important because when we come to celebrate the mysteries of God’s love we find our hearts lifted by the beauty of the building as well as the friends and fellow parishioners who surround us in prayer. If you have yet to give to the ADA please do so today…no gift is too small or too large.

     Second, this past week on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of our Lord, Pope Francis, in unity with Bishops and faithful from around the world, chose to enter into prayer as we offered an Act of Consecration of Russia and Ukraine to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.  We have shared an article on what this means in the life of the Church on the parish facebook page and I would invite you to read it.  If you missed the day, I would encourage you to pray for this grace of peace and justice to envelop Russia and Ukraine where the Immaculate Heart of Mary, united to her son’s Sacred Heart brings peace and justice to this troubled area of the world. As with all mothers, Mary as the Mother of God and Our Lady of Peace seeks, through prayer and intercession, to end conflicts between all her children.  It is for this we pray.

     Lastly, we are reminded to care for one another and to seek to treat others with the joy of Christ.  As we move forward with loosening COVID restrictions we are called to share the joy of Jesus Christ with one another.  With the mask mandate lifted to “recommended but not required” each of us will have choices to make but one choice we must choose is to come and celebrate the mystery of our Lord’s presence on the altar of sacrifice and in the community gathered in prayer and worship.  Please invite friend and neighbor to come and join us in giving glory and praise to our God.

     ¡Feliz Cuarto y Santo Domingo de Cuaresma! Si se ha dado cuenta, nos encontramos a más de la mitad del tiempo Cuaresmal y estamos acercándonos cada vez más a la santa y gran fiesta de Pascua.

     Gracias por todo su apoyo a nuestra parroquia durante este tiempo. Hemos superado la meta del llamado anual diocesano (ADA, por sus siglas en inglés) establecido por la Diócesis y ahora estamos en la fase en la que buscamos alcanzar la meta de nuestra parroquia de $165,000.  Esta meta adicional nos ayudará a poder reparar y renovar el lugar físico de nuestra Iglesia. Esto es importante porque cuando venimos a celebrar los misterios del amor de Dios, nuestros corazones se elevan por la belleza del edificio, así como por los amigos y feligreses que nos rodean en oración. Si aún tiene que donar al ADA, hágalo hoy... ningún regalo es demasiado pequeño ni demasiado grande.

     En segundo lugar, la semana pasada, el día de la Solemnidad de la Anunciación de Nuestro Señor Jesucristo, El Papa Francisco unido en oración con todos los Obispos y fieles del mundo, hizo el acto de Consagración de Rusia y Ucrania al Inmaculado Corazón de Maria.   Hemos compartido un artículo sobre lo que esto significa en la vida de la Iglesia en la página de Facebook de la parroquia y los invito a leerlo. Si se perdió este acto de Consagración, le animo a rezar para que esta gracia de paz y justicia envuelva a Rusia y Ucrania, donde el Inmaculado Corazón de María, unido al Sagrado Corazón de su hijo, traiga paz y justicia a esta zona del mundo que está en conflicto. Como todas las madres, María como Madre de Dios y Nuestra Señora de la Paz busca, a través de la oración y la intercesión, poner fin a los conflictos entre todos sus hijos. Es esto por lo que oramos.

     Por último, se nos recuerda que nos cuidemos los unos a los otros y busquemos tratar a los demás con el gozo de Cristo. A medida que avanzamos en la relajación de las restricciones del COVID, estamos llamados a compartir la alegría de Jesucristo unos con otros. Con el paso del mandato del uso de la máscara a “recomendado, pero no requerido", cada uno de nosotros tendrá elecciones que hacer, pero una elección que si debemos hacer es venir y celebrar el misterio de la presencia de nuestro Señor en el altar del sacrificio y en la comunidad reunida en oración y Adoración. Por favor invite a amigos y vecinos a venir y unirse a nosotros para dar gloria y alabanza a nuestro Dios.
